The Prelims round will be accessible from 10.00 AM to 23.59 PM IST on both 11th and 12th May. The duration of this timed contest will be 40 minutes. You are free to decide your own convenient 40 minute time slot within this 28 hour time-frame. Make use of this flexibility and choose your slot wisely.

The prelims (Creativity Round) will consist of 15 problems (mostly single option correct MCQs and a few SATs). The scoring policy for MCQs will be as follows: You will be awarded with 3 points for every correct response. There's no negative marking. You won't gain any points by skipping or answering a problem incorrectly. For a few short response based questions which require understanding your thought process, partial marking will be done based on the extent of correctness. 1 bonus problem will be available which will fetch you extra 3 points if answered correctly and the maximum achievable points will be capped to 45.

The first round will have separate categories for the Foundational (Beginner Pioneers), Diploma (Intermediate Adventurers) and Degree (Proficient Explorers) level students. So, you will be competing with the fellow peers who are at the same level as you, providing a fair and challenging environment.
The beauty of the contest is that you DONT need to have prior knowledge in AI or ML domains. Resources (can be hints, papers, brief contents from articles) will be provided to support you in navigating the challenges wherever needed. The problems will surely have the essence of Data Science but will be crafted in a way such that the key to success lies in your ability to think outside the box and approach problems with creativity and logic and that's the only pre-requisite! It will be an unique learning experience for you all. So, don't hesitate, trust us and go for it!

Though a lot has changed this time starting from the pattern to rounds and addition of various innovative components, you will be happy to know that a Foundational student (not being much tech-versed) out-powered the diploma level students in the debut version of LogicLooM that too, we had the same paper for all students back then :)

We have our own Participant web app via which the online rounds will take place. It can be accessed in any web browser and will be responsive in both Laptop/PC and android/ioS devices. Though a stable Internet connection is required, high bandwidth or a lot of mobile data won't be needed. A decent connectivity speed should suffice.

You can directly sign in with your student G-account and no credentials will be needed. If you are a registered user for our event, the system will allow access and redirect you to the Waiting Lounge where you can find all the event specific instructions. Once the attempt window gets live, the Launch option would get activated and you are all set to start the contest. You will be able to see all questions at a time as there's no question specific time limit. There will be a live timer on the main question screen, showing the remaining time. Once it ends and you fail to click on Finish, your quiz will be successfully auto-submitted. Also, apart from the Previous and Next feature, there will be a question palette using which you can directly jump to specfic problems.

There's a separate Save feature which is very useful and allows you to keep saving the responses intermittently. We strongly suggest you to use this at intervals. If you get disconnected, the answers would remain saved at the backend and you can safely resume from where you left. Without verifying the log, we won't be able to adjust the lost time in this case.

You can keep changing your responses until you submit. You can obviously save as many times you want. The last saved responses will be considered by our auto-grader.
Note that submission is a one-time process and once you press Finish, there's no going back to the question screen or modifying responses.

Various proctoring tools have been implemented in our portal to detect any case of unfair means (including, but not limited to, logins in more than one device, long away time from the quiz screen, frequent logouts, etc). Please do not navigate from the quiz screen until the contest ends. The resources will be available on the screen and that is the only content you are allowed to refer to, for solving the problems. This is not an open book contest. Multiple warning alerts from the system would lead to a force-submission.

A PC/laptop is preferred for a better experience. Make sure that you disable your anti-virus alerts/notifications from the settings. Similarly, incase of android, keep the phone silent and turn on the DND mode during the contest.

To ensure that you get the best experience at LogicLooM, support will be available throughout the entire 28 hour time-frame of the Prelims and we mean it! Any technical help needed, please feel free to reach out to us via logicloom@ds.study.iitm.ac.in. We will be happy to assist.

Raw points obtained in the Creativity round will be converted into percentiles to evaluate relative performance. The cut-off percentile score for each category will be determined based on factors like difficulty level, participant feedback and the overall performance analytics.
The top N participants who surpass the cut-off percentile in each category will qualify for the Prefinals. To provide more participants with an opportunity to progress and experience the collaborative learning environment, an additional round has been introduced this time.

Participants will be randomly assigned to teams but each team will consist of an equal number of participants from every category. There will be 2 different problem statements (as per the category wise difficulty level) to make the competition fair. FL and DD participants from each team will collaborate to solve a real-life problem statement within a 3-hr time frame. Team members should connect via video call in order to interact and discuss strategies. The participants need to complete the required milestones (sub-tasks) in this round within the stipulated duration. They will continue working on this in the finals. Further details regarding the format will be provided in due course.

Anyone is welcome to attend our offline workshop, that will be held at the ICSR building Room 2 on 1st June. Whether you're new to the field or already have some understanding, this session will offer an immersive learning experience, packed with industry insights and practical knowledge. Attendees can expect discussions on a wide range of topics from foundational principles to advanced algorithms, designed to better equip them with the ever-evolving landscape of Gen AI and ML.

Finally! Here we are at the pinnacle of the contest. The culmination awaits in the final data challenge round, where the top 7 teams will embark on a journey to tackle real-life problem statements using AI, immersing themselves in a hands-on learning experience like no other. Additionally, each team will have the chance to showcase their ingenuity and innovation as they pitch their projects, demonstrating the power of AI in solving complex challenges.

Trophy, Cash prizes (Total 10.5K) for the top 3 teams, Exciting goodies (worth 3.3K+) for the finalists, Certificates of Appreciation for pre-finalists, Certificates of Participation
Students who engage with atleast one of the problems in the first round will be recognized as our active participants and will be eligible for a Participation Certificate. Participants who successfully advance to the Pre-finals will receive the Certificate of Appreciation. Those who excel and make it to the finals will be awarded with the Certificate of Achievement.
The top 3 teams from the finale will be awarded with the Certificate of Accomplishment during the Prize Distribution on campus.
